What are clear aligners?

Traditional tooth straightening (orthodontics) usually involves the placement of brackets and wires on your teeth. This can be uncomfortable and unsightly, and requires frequent visits to the orthodontist to make adjustments.

With clear aligners, the treatment is virtually invisible and under your control. Custom-made aligner trays place gentle pressure on your teeth to move them into an optimum position. Over time, a series of aligners gradually brings your teeth into better alignment.

Your dentist-guided Reveal® treatment plan

Step 1: Consultation + treatment plan
A Reveal treatment plan begins with a visit to your Dentist for a Reveal® smile consultation. During this visit, we will establish if the treatment is suitable for you based on your ambitions and oral health.

Step 2: Treatment planning
We take records of your teeth, such as X-rays, and with cutting-edge digital technology, such as a TRIOS intra-oral scanner. This information is used to generate a treatment plan that can be presented to you digitally, allowing you to track the progress made during treatment.

Step 3: Teeth straightening
Your aligners are skilfully manufactured by Reveal to match your treatment plan. You’ll wear each aligner for about two weeks before progressing to the next one. Treatment times vary from individual to individual but can extend to 18 months. We monitor you in the clinic every 6 weeks.
