A replacement for a missing tooth, a single tooth implant is rooted within the jaw and has a success rate of over 95% after 10 years.
They are considered the gold standard in tooth replacement methods amongst dentists due to their high level of biocompatibility with the jawbone and capacity to closely emulate many of the functionalities of real teeth.
What is a single-tooth implant?
Used to replace individual missing teeth, a single dental implant functions and looks just like a natural tooth. This is made possible by the fact that single dental implants are made from titanium, a biocompatible material that integrates naturally with the jawbone.
Once the titanium implant has been placed, your jawbone is induced to grow around it, supposing it to be a real replacement tooth root. Once the healing period (3-6 months) is complete, you will have a brand new, fixed tooth root.
Your dentist will then create a beautiful, custom-made, and fitted crown to be screwed into place on the implant.
How will a single-tooth implant benefit me?
Implants are the closest solution to a real tooth
Implants are currently the most tooth-like alternative to your natural teeth. No other method of tooth replacement can fuse with the jawbone and become a permanent fixture in your jaw.
Love your food again
Missing teeth will no longer hinder your chewing function. Your implant will be immovable when you chew and bite.
Extremely durable (95%+ success rate)
Implants have an excellent success rate of between 95% + after 10 years, thanks to their high level of biocompatibility.
Regain your confidence
Fill the gaps in your smile with newfound confidence and self-esteem.
Maintain youthful facial structure and shape
Implants do more than just restore a natural-looking smile. They maintain the structure of the jawbone, giving a full and youthful appearance to the whole face.
The single-tooth implant process
Step 1: Consultation
Your consultation is an opportunity to learn about the process and meet our friendly implant dentists. They will go through all facets of the treatment journey and the associated costs. X-rays and sometimes CBCT scans are taken to confirm your suitability for treatment.
Step 2: Implant surgery
On your surgery day, the implant is placed under local anaesthetic. A temporary crown is placed over the implant. This will be replaced with your permanent crown once the healing process is complete. The waiting time for healing can vary from 3 to 6 months.
Step 3: Dental impressions
A dental impression is taken of the teeth on either side of the gap and of the implant. These are sent away to our partner lab, where your permanent crown can be created. It will be matched to your exact tooth shade.
Step 4: Permanent crown placement
The most exciting part! Your permanent crown is placed and checked over for size and shape.
